What is Taiwanese Milk Tea
Boba milk tea referred as Zhen Zhu milk tea, also known as Tapioca (ball) tea, Boba milk tea (bubble milk tea), Is a tea beverage that originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. It is a branch of Taiwan's bubble black tea drinking culture. "Pearl with Black Milk Tea" and other variants, because of their special taste, have been widely welcomed and resonated. It has also become one of Taiwan's most representative beverage, and has spread from Taiwan to neighboring countries and regions around the world.
What is Boba
Boba refers to the chewy tapioca pearls commonly found in bubble tea (also called boba tea). Made from tapioca starch derived from the cassava root, boba pearls are typically round, black or dark brown colored and sweetened with brown sugar or caramel, and have a soft gummy texture.
What is our goal
Naga Tea is a Tampa-based boba tea shop founded in 2014 by University of South Florida (USF) alumnus. Our mission is to provide high-quality, healthy, and authentic tea culture to the customers. We focus on using fresh ingredients, avoiding powders and artificial sweeteners, sourcing our products directly from Taiwan to preserve traditional flavors.
Naga is proud to have expanded to the USF campus, becoming part of the university community and offering students an authentic taste of Taiwanese boba tea. This expansion supports our continued mission to introduce the richness of Taiwanese tea culture to a broader audience.
